Dr. Berry's current research interest is on statistical models, methods, and software for exploring populations of integration sites such as occur in retroviral infections (see Berry et al, 2006, PLoS Comput Biol and Berry et al, Bioinformatics, 2012) or in gene therapies using retrovirus-like constructs (see Berry et al, Bioinformatics, 2014) .
During his career, Dr. Berry has been the principal statistician on multisite clinical trials, the California Tobacco Survey, and cohort studies. He is the author or co-author of more than 175 scientific publications. He has served as a reviewer for NIH Study Sections and been Statistical Editor of two medical journals. He has taught statistics to medical students, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows in the biomedical sciences.
