    Originally from Virginia, Dr. Richard Clark joined the faculty in July 1991, and created the UCSD Division of Medical Toxicology in 1994 and began the Medical Toxicology Fellowship program in 1997. Dr. Clark is also the Medical Director of the San Diego Division of the California Poison Control System and oversees the Medical Toxicology Consult and Admitting Services at UCSD Medical Centers in Hillcrest and La Jolla. He is Medical Director of Pharmacy and Chairman of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee at UCSD, and is Vice-Chair of the UCSD Department of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Clark is co-editor of the "Toxicology" section of the Journal of Emergency Medicine. Dr Clark’s research interests include drugs pf abuse, analgesics, and envenomations.
