Dr. Andrew LaFree was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. After graduating from the University of Maryland he briefly moved to Los Angeles to play music. He then travelled back to the east coast to complete medical school at the Drexel University College of Medicine. He attended residency at UCSD and upon graduating in 2015 began work at the UCSD satellite emergency room in El Centro, California where he is currently the chair and associate medical director. His academic interests include resident education and rural medicine. He lives with his wife Talia between Mission Valley and El Centro. His hobbies include running, meditation, travel, snowboarding, camping, reading, playing guitar and music in general, and videogames.
