Overview

Dr. Andrew LaFree was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. After graduating from the University of Maryland he briefly moved to Los Angeles to play music. He then travelled back to the east coast to complete medical school at the Drexel University College of Medicine. He completed his emergency medicine residency at UC San Diego and upon graduating in 2015 he began working at the UC San Diego affiliate hospital, El Centro Regional. He is currently the Vice Chief of Staff and Medical Director of the emergency department at El Centro Regional and he works clinically in the emergency departments there and at UCSD. His academic interests include resident education, ED administration and operations, and rural medicine. He lives with his wife Talia and daughter Frankie Andz between Mission Valley and El Centro. His hobbies include running, meditation, travel, snowboarding, camping, reading, writing children's books, playing guitar and music in general, and videogames.
