    Dr. Elise Zimmerman, MD, MS, completed her pediatric residency at Tulane University and pursued a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital (Formerly Miami Children's). She is board-certified in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine and serves full-time in the emergency department at Rady Children's Hospital. Additionally, Dr. Zimmerman is an HS-Clinical Associate Professor in the Division of Emergency Medicine at the University of California, San Diego.
    As a dedicated California Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Zimmerman focuses on medical education and research, qualitative research, and quality improvement work. She is deeply passionate about educating the next generation of medical professionals, actively engaging in the clinical training of fellows, residents, and medical students both at the bedside on shift and as a Master Clinician for the Master Clinician Program for medical students and residents alike.
    Dr. Zimmerman leverages simulation as a fundamental tool to enhance clinical learning, decision-making, and team-based communication, particularly in high-pressure situations. Her leadership in simulation-based initiatives has significantly contributed to strengthening pediatric emergency care protocols and the performance of interdisciplinary teams.
    She is committed to mentoring fellows, residents, medical students, and colleagues. She finds immense satisfaction in sharing knowledge and fostering a supportive learning environment.
    Dr. Zimmerman's ongoing goal is to propel advancements in medical educational methodologies and improve patient outcomes through innovative, hands-on training techniques.
