    Profile

William Taylor, MD, joined the faculty at UC San Diego in the neurosurgery division of the Department of Surgery in 1994. Dr. Taylor earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He completed his residency training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York, and his specialtyt raining in spinal surgery at the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York.

Dr. Taylor's practice is focused on the neurosurgical evaluation and treatment of spinal disorders. He is able to employ a broad range of spinal instrumentation, where needed. He has a special interest in endoscopic surgery for disk disease as well as minimally-invasure spine surgery. His general neurosurgical practice includes craniotomy for for removal of brain tumors and other masses, and carotid endarterectomy for the treatment of carotid stenosis.

Dr. Taylor has been invited as distinguished lecturer or panelist to numerous meetings and conferences. Dr. Taylor is also a member of numerous scientific and professional societies, including the American Medical Association, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
