Visit the lab website below for more information on our research.

Dr. Pa directs the Alzheimer’s Prevention Lab, an academic research group at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and a part of the Alzheimer’s Disease Cooperative Study (ADCS) and the Department of Neurosciences.

Dr. Pa is the Co-Director of the Alzheimer’s Disease Cooperative Study (ADCS) and Professor of Neurosciences. She holds the Shiley Chair of Alzheimer’s Disease Research. Dr. Pa has 20 years of human neuroimaging experience with a focus on Alzheimer’s prevention and risk factors. One branch of her research program is developing and testing new multidomain combination interventions using technology, such as virtual reality and remote activity monitoring, with the goal of preserving brain health and cognition. She is the Principal Investigator of ongoing NIH behavioral intervention trials with a focus on physical and cognitive activities. The other main branch of her work focuses on big data approaches to investigate the interplay between sex/gender, genetics like APOE4, and Alzheimer's disease risk factors. She is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of scientific leaders, early career researchers, graduate students, and data enthusiasts using a holistic mentorship approach.

Altmetrics Details PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
