Paul Ishimine, MD, obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley and his medical degree at the University of California, Irvine College of Medicine. He then went on complete an emergency medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh and was an emergency physician at the University of Pennsylvania prior to completing a pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He is board-certified in both emergency medicine and pediatric emergency medicine, and he is on staff of both the Department of Emergency Medicine and the Division of Emergency Medicine at Rady Children’s Hospital, San Diego. He is the program director for the Department's pediatric emergency medicine fellowship.
Dr. Ishimine is a member of the American Board of Pediatrics/American Board of Emergency Medicine Joint Subboard for Pediatric Emergency Medicine, and he is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians Pediatric Emergency Medicine Committee. He serves as a editor for the Clinical Communications/Pediatrics section of the Journal of Emergency Medicine. His research interests include infectious diseases in the emergency department, and he is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics Pediatric Emergency Medicine Collaborative Research Committee.
