    Dr. Meltzer specializes in pediatric neurosurgery and performs the majority of his procedures at Children's Hospital Medical Center, where he has his primary office. He joined the Division of Neurosurgery in 1997 after having completed medical school at Northwestern University and pediatric neurosurgical training at UCSD and The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario.

    Dr. Meltzer performs well over 200 pediatric operative procedures a year. His research interests include central nervous system stem cells and the molecular biology of brain tumors. His clinical interests span all of pediatric neurosurgery and include endoscopic treatment of craniosynostoses.

    Dr. Meltzer has been nationally recognized for his humanistic approach to the care of children. He has been featured in numerous newspapers and magazines including Reader's Digest, McCall's, the New York Times, and the San Diego Union-Tribune. He also recently appeared on the television show It's a Miracle.
