    Dr. Michelle Ann Bulterys is an epidemiologist specializing in maternal, paternal, and child health among families affected by HIV in sub-Saharan Africa. She trained in Anthropology and Global Health at UCSD, and received her MPH, PhD, and Postdoctoral training in Epidemiology at the University of Washington. Dr. Bulterys' research is primarily based in Kenya, Botswana, and Uganda, and focuses on caregiver relationships and mental health, father engagement interventions, and child neurodevelopment. Dr. Bulterys currently serves as a Scientific Committee Member on the UNAIDS/WHO Pediatric Reference Working Group, International Maternal Pediatric Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials (IMPAACT) Network Scientific Committee for Brain and Mental Health, and as the Research Methodology Advisor for the NIH Fogarty "Global Health Program for Fellows and Scholars" (LAUNCH) Program.

    Dr. Bulterys attended elementary and middle school in Zambia, high school in China, and has lived and worked in Switzerland and the United States.
