    Joshua "Yoshi" Rothman, MD, MS is a pediatrician and clinical informaticist whose work focuses on leveraging electronic health record data to improve pediatric care quality and inform public health. His research integrates large-scale clinical data with practical clinical questions, with a particular emphasis on preventative health trends, emerging treatments and outcomes, and healthcare delivery optimization in pediatric populations. He has led and collaborated on studies using national EHR datasets to evaluate real-world patterns in care and their implications for child health outcomes.

    Dr. Rothman graduated from Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in 2019. He completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He joined the UC San Diego faculty in 2022, and attained board certifications in Pediatrics from the American Board of Pediatrics in 2022 and Clinical Informatics from the American Board of Preventative Medicine in 2026.
