    Jeff Reeves, MD is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery within the Division of Minimally Invasive Surgery. He utilizes laparoscopic, robotic, endoscopic and open techniques to perform bariatric and metabolic surgeries, para-esophageal hernia repair and anti-reflux surgery, and manage biliary disease, and complex abdominal wall hernias.

    Dr. Reeves also serves as the Medical Director of Peri-operative Informatics and Innovation and the Associate Medical Director of Surgical Quality for UC San Diego Health. In these roles, he leverages innovative technology such as artificial intelligence and process improvement methodologies to enhance the efficiency of peri-operative healthcare systems, cost-effectiveness, and surgical outcomes. He serves as the Director of Quality and Process Improvement for the Department of Surgery to advance surgical care delivery, inform hospital policy, and drive improvement in quality and patient safety. He also aids in the oversight of the Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Institute at UC San Diego Health and co-directs the Surgical Quality and Informatics Fellowship.

    Dr. Reeves is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Informatics Association, and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and is an elected member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and Arthur P. Gold Humanism Honor Society.
