Yi Hui Liu, MD, MPH is a board-certified developmental-behavioral pediatrician. Developmental-behavioral pediatricians work with families to evaluate, treat, and coordinate care for children with developmental delays, behavioral issues, learning disorders and/or mental health concerns. Dr. Liu has a special interest in the evaluation and care of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, intellectual disability, and developmental delays. She has extensive experience collaborating with other developmental services, including psychology, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy.
As an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Dr. Liu instructs medical students, residents, and fellows at UC San Diego School of Medicine. Her work has appeared in Journal of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, Rudolph’s Pediatrics, Nelson Essentials of Pediatrics, The Zuckerman Parker Handbook of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics for Primary Care, and The Child, An Encyclopedic Companion.
Dr. Liu completed fellowships in community pediatrics and developmental-behavioral pediatrics at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She completed residency in pediatrics at Yale-New Haven Hospital, Yale Medical School. Dr. Liu earned her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. She also holds a master’s degree in epidemiology from San Diego State University, School of Public Health. She is board-certified in both general pediatrics and developmental-behavioral pediatrics.
