    Dr. East is a developmental psychologist and research scientist in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Diego. Her research has addressed the effects of iron deficiency during infancy, neurocognitive functioning, childhood obesity, unwanted pregnancy, and children’s family and sibling relationships. She has authored over 90 publications, 60 as lead author, and served on 6 editorial boards of scientific journals and 9 NIH grant review committees. Her study findings have appeared in TIME, the Wall Street Journal, U.S. News & World Report, The London Times, and on NPR among others.
