    Dr. Nicholas C. Saenz is board certified in surgery and pediatric surgery. He earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan and completed his surgery residency at the Deaconess-Harvard Surgical Service. His postgraduate training included surgical research and pediatric surgical fellowships at Children's Hospital, Boston - Harvard Medical School.

    After leaving Boston, Dr. Saenz worked at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center as an Attending Pediatric Surgical Oncologist. He came to San Diego in 1998. Since then he has established a thriving pediatric surgical practice with special interests in oncologic surgery of infants and children.

    He is an active member of the Pediatric Trauma Service at Rady Children's Hospital. He is active in surgical education of students and residents. Dr. Saenz has authored 15 publications, eight book chapters.
