    Dr. D’Eon earned her doctorate from the San Diego State University/University of California San Diego Joint Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology, with a focus in Behavioral Medicine. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the UCSD/VA Pre-Doctoral Psychology Internship Program, and her post-doctoral fellowship at UCSD in the Department of Psychiatry. She joined the UCSD Health Sciences faculty in the Department of Psychiatry in October 2017. She also serves as a Faculty Psychologist and Clinician-Educator in the UC San Diego Pain Psychology Clinic, Program Director of the Pain Multidisciplinary Functional Restoration Program, and Faculty Psychologist in the General Psychiatry Program.

    Dr. D’Eon’s primary research interests are focused on the investigation of psychosocial factors that promote and hinder successful self-management of chronic health conditions. In addition, she has developed and studied the feasibility/acceptability of psychosocial interventions for health promotion with patients with chronic medical conditions. Her research has been funded by Canadian national grants (Social Sciences and Humanities Research Counsel of Canada) and her research has been featured in Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Emotion, Journal of Psychology, Health and Medicine, among others. She continues to collaborate on research efforts with faculty at UCSD and San Diego State University.
