    Collapse Overview
Dr. Erich Lidstone grew up in New Hampshire, where he began his lifelong interest in hiking, biking, climbing, and all things outdoors. He completed his undergraduate education at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts, where he also worked at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, researching the immunology underlying Type 1 Diabetes. He attended medical school at the University of Illinois College of Medicine while simultaneously earning his PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Illinois College of Engineering. His research interests include small molecule screening and characterization, optical sensors, and diagnostic tools, with specialized experience in custom surface chemistry and HIV detection. He completed residency training in Emergency Medicine at West Virginia University and worked in the community in the greater Pittsburgh area before coming to San Diego. When not on shift, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing music, and being outside.
