    In her role as Research Development Director, Emily Bass partners with Department of Radiology investigators to craft interdisciplinary grant proposals for NIH and foundation funding and works with faculty and trainees at all stages to grow their research careers. She has also been involved in supporting the department’s NIBIB-funded Clinician-Scientist Radiology Residency Program (T32EB005970) since 2008, and is the editor of Photon, the department’s quarterly newsletter. Emily’s previous roles at UC San Diego include co-directing the Research Proposal Development Service in the Office of Research Affairs and serving as a grant writer, manuscript editor, and project manager for teams working in such diverse areas as hospital policy and quality improvement, neurological disorders, and nanoengineering. She has also written and edited web content, press releases, and health- and technology-centric news articles for clinical, lay, and student audiences.
