Overview

I see our work as empowerment, helping to create environments where people and communities take charge of their lives and achieve joy and wellbeing. I believe in the WHO definition of health: rather than the absence of disease, the presence of a state of well-being. I believe that, by our actions and reactions, one moment and one person at a time, we can do the work Gandhi teaches, “to be the change we wish to see in the world." To do this, we must follow the teachings of Marley, and “emancipate ourselves from mental slavery”’ and Rumi, ‘not to move the way fear moves us.” With these tools, we must address injustice, for as King teaches, “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere” and we must begin, each of us, in our own way, as Hillel teaches, “If not now, when?”
