    Dr. Anupama Wadhwa is the current President of the International Society of Perioperative Care of Obese Patients. She has served in the capacity of Vice President for Education and Secretary for this society before she was President Elect.

    Dr. Wadhwa is a member of the Committee on Patient Safety and Education at the American Society of Anesthesiologists. She has served as the Chair of the Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Abstract Review committee at the ASA for 5 years and a member for 8 years. She has also served on the Education Track Subcommittee on Professionalism Issues , the Fundamentals Committee, the Education Committee for Regional anesthesia and the Scientific Advisory committee at the ASA.

    Dr. Wadhwa was the Residency Curriculum Director and the Director of Faculty Development at the University of the Louisville. She has chaired the Committee on Salary Increase based on performance and Curriculum committee, and been a member of the clinical competence committee, residency selection committee, Diversity committee and the Faculty Forum. She served on the Claims and Underwriting committee for the Kentuckiana Medical Risk Retention group for malpractice insurance more than 15 years.

    Her current interests are Anesthesia for Obese Patients, Early recovery after Surgery, Opioid Free/sparing and Multimodal analgesia, especially around comprehensive Perioperative pain management.
