I am an environmental health scientist and climate epidemiologist. My research combines epidemiology, computational science, and community engagement to understand the relationships between climate variability and human disease in order to inform: 1) how climate change may impact disease risk in the future and 2) how climate information can be utilized to improve early warning disease prediction systems. I lead interdisciplinary projects that quantify the impacts of climate hazards—such as extreme heat, particulate dust, and wildfire smoke—on health outcomes ranging from emerging infectious diseases, adverse birth events, and healthcare utilization. I am deeply passionate about teaching and mentoring and committed to training the next generation of global health leaders to protect human health and well-being from climate change and other environmental hazards.

Altmetrics Details PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
